Peer review policy

Overview

Global Management Sciences Review (GMSR) uses a double-blind peer-review process for research articles and other manuscripts that require external peer review. The journal's peer-review process is designed to provide an impartial and independent assessment of submitted manuscripts and to maintain the quality and integrity of the published research. data-start="2494" data-end="2685">All manuscripts are assessed on the basis of their scholarly quality, originality, methodological soundness, relevance to the journal's aims and scope, and contribution to the relevant field.

Types of Peer Review

GMSR uses double-blind peer review. data-start="2752" data-end="2771">Under this process: data-start="2773" data-end="3380">

  • Authors do not know the identities of the reviewers. data-section-id="ypldk4" data-start="2828" data-end="2882">Reviewers do not know the identities of the authors. data-section-id="13b7qft" data-start="2883" data-end="2959">The manuscript provided to reviewers is anonymized before external review. data-section-id="3z7s61" data-start="2960" data-end="3159">Authors must therefore ensure that the manuscript submitted for review does not contain names, affiliations, email addresses, acknowledgements, or other information that could identify the authors. data-section-id="1xasxjo" data-start="3160" data-end="3269">Author information should be provided separately through the submission system or in a separate title page. data-section-id="1d7d1ug" data-start="3270" data-end="3380">Reviewers are expected to assess manuscripts objectively and solely on the basis of their scholarly content.

    • Peer Review Process

  • All manuscripts must be submitted through the GMSR online submission system. data-section-id="1izhixu" data-start="3518" data-end="3633">The editorial office first checks the manuscript for basic compliance with the journal's submission requirements. data-section-id="1tawpo3" data-start="3634" data-end="3720">The editors assess whether the manuscript falls within the journal's aims and scope. data-section-id="ux7ehk" data-start="3721" data-end="3827">The manuscript may also be assessed for originality, plagiarism or other publication-integrity concerns. data-section-id="8toemf" data-start="3828" data-end="3963">Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's basic requirements or fall outside its scope may be rejected without external peer review.

  • Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are normally sent to at least two independent external reviewers with appropriate subject expertise.

    Reviewers are selected on the basis of their academic expertise, research experience, and suitability for the manuscript.

    Reviewers should not have a personal, professional, financial, or other conflict of interest with the authors or the research under review.

    Reviewers who have a conflict of interest must decline the review invitation and inform the editorial office.

The final editorial decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or an editor authorized by the Editor-in-Chief, taking into consideration the reviewers' reports and the overall quality and suitability of the manuscript. class="PDq2pG_selectionAnchorContainer" data-section-id="19cc1e8" data-start="5920" data-end="5941">Editorial Decision data-start="5943" data-end="6671">
  • The editorial decision is based on the reviewers' assessments and the editor's independent evaluation of the manuscript. data-section-id="knbxp3" data-start="6066" data-end="6222">Where reviewers disagree, the editor may seek an additional independent review or make a decision based on the available reports and editorial assessment. data-section-id="c8i6la" data-start="6223" data-end="6314">A manuscript requiring revision may be returned to the authors for further consideration. data-section-id="hcwccm" data-start="6315" data-end="6420">Revised manuscripts may be returned to the original reviewers for further evaluation where appropriate. data-section-id="1slxwag" data-start="6421" data-end="6522">The editorial decision and relevant reviewer comments are communicated to the corresponding author. data-section-id="1l2m3le" data-start="6523" data-end="6671">Receipt of a favorable reviewer recommendation does not guarantee acceptance. The final decision remains the responsibility of the editorial team.

  • GMSR aims to process manuscripts as efficiently as possible while maintaining an appropriate level of peer-review quality. data-section-id="ss9m4c" data-start="6819" data-end="7005">The time required for peer review may vary depending on the subject of the manuscript, reviewer availability, the number of review rounds, and the complexity of the revisions required. data-section-id="1l3f4ea" data-start="7006" data-end="7100">Authors may contact the editorial office if there is an unusual delay in the review process. data-section-id="bn382b" data-start="7101" data-end="7182">The journal does not guarantee acceptance or publication within a fixed period.

    • Reviewer Selection and Ethics

    • Reviewers are selected according to their expertise and suitability for the manuscript. data-section-id="1wun21h" data-start="7906" data-end="7987">Reviewers must provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based assessments. data-section-id="78f7k2" data-start="7988" data-end="8100">Reviewers must disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest before accepting a manuscript for review. data-section-id="1ohgh2n" data-start="8101" data-end="8184">Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts and related materials. data-section-id="17920lp" data-start="8185" data-end="8309">Reviewers must not use unpublished information obtained through the review process for personal or professional advantage. data-section-id="1kvq8pf" data-start="8310" data-end="8426">Reviewers must not share manuscripts or review materials with others without permission from the editorial office. data-section-id="190mgae" data-start="8427" data-end="8628">Reviewers should inform the editors of any concerns regarding plagiarism, duplicate publication, fabricated or manipulated data, inappropriate citations, or other potential research-integrity issues. data-section-id="ugnugg" data-start="8629" data-end="8747">GMSR expects reviewers to follow relevant principles and guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

    Appeals Process

    • Authors who believe that a decision was made as a result of a significant procedural error, misunderstanding of the manuscript, or other substantive issue may submit an appeal. data-section-id="1ld7sa1" data-start="8940" data-end="9031">Appeals must provide a clear and reasoned explanation of the grounds for reconsideration. data-section-id="1wy16k4" data-start="9032" data-end="9186">Appeals should address specific issues in the editorial decision or review process rather than simply disagreeing with the reviewers' academic judgment. data-section-id="1cgch8f" data-start="9187" data-end="9334">An appeal may be assessed by the Editor-in-Chief or another appropriate editor who was not responsible for the original decision, where feasible. data-section-id="q56lja" data-start="9335" data-end="9409">The editor may seek an additional independent assessment when necessary. data-section-id="iq7q7i" data-start="9410" data-end="9454">The decision following an appeal is final.

    Reviewer Acknowledgment

    • GMSR appreciates the contribution of reviewers to the quality of scholarly publishing. data-section-id="1k6o9fc" data-start="10297" data-end="10423">The journal may acknowledge reviewers who have completed peer reviews in an annual acknowledgment, subject to their consent. data-section-id="1pahncq" data-start="10424" data-end="10544">Reviewers may request a certificate confirming their contribution where such certificates are provided by the journal. data-section-id="i7ch9q" data-start="10545" data-end="10643">Reviewer identities remain confidential unless the reviewer has explicitly agreed to disclosure.
